Obituary of Evelyn Woolridge

Evelyn Harris Woolridge Evelyn Harris Woolridge, daughter of John T. Harris and Alberta Hobson Harris was born in Powhatan, Virginia on June 14, 1933. Evelyn accepted Christ as her Lord and savior at an early age, was baptized, and joined Mount Zion Baptist in Powhatan. Virginia. She was a graduate of Pocahontas High School, class of 1949, and completed one year of college at Virginia State University. On March 31, 1955, Evelyn gave birth to a baby boy, DeMarco Harris, whom she loved dearly. Evelyn was a life-long resident of Powhatan County and was the proprietor of Harris Exxon for many years. Evelyn passed away on May 11. 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents,; husband, Eugene Woolridge and son, DeMarco "D.A." Harris. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Betty McCracken, two grandchildren; Tyler Harris (Megan) and Blair Harris, a brother; John Otis Harris, Sr., one nephew; John Otis Harris, Jr., and a host of cousins and friends, three devoted; Mabel Walton, Vivian Hicks, and Edith Hollis.
