Obituary
The daughter of Lonnie and Leutricia Booker, Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Booker was born January 30, 1973. Under the watchful eyes of her grandparents, Philemond and Helen Jones, Cindy was raised in Cumberland County, VA. Cindy recognized the importance of God in her life and joined Rocky Mount Baptist at an early age. She attended Cumberland County schools from which she graduated high school. After graduation, Cindy held several jobs, the longest at Sauers Spices for twenty-four years.
The radiance of Cindy's smile has physically lost its glow but will spiritually remain bright within our hearts. Cindy loved God and was not afraid to let you know who has kept her. Visioning Cindy's soft laughter shall serve as a gentle reminder of her selflessness, love of family, friends, and of her peaceful heart.
Though a natural introvert, Cindy enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. She enjoyed watching her youngest cousins play, watching a comedy movie and eating a good steak at her favorite steak house. She made life work for her.
God took the time to give Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Booker a ticket for eternal rest on Thursday as her earthly timeclock was stamped December 28, 2024. She has joined the loves of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal, paternal grandparents, aunt, and uncles.
To keep Cindy's memories thriving are cousins Roger and Deborah Jackson, (also known as Bro and Sis), cousins George and Mary Edmonds, aunts, uncles, a multitude of cousins and friends.
Cindy learned to allow no one to steal her joy. Her love for God, family and friends was in abundance. She has triumphed so we shall smile and say, "To God be the Glory!
"Don't Cry for Me"
Don't cry for me, I will be okay.
Heaven is my home now, and this is where I'll stay.
Don't cry for me. I'm where I belong.
I want you to be happy and try to stay strong.
Don't cry for me. It was just my time,
But I will see you someday on the other side.
Don't cry for me. I am not alone.
The angels are with me to welcome me home.
Don't cry for me, for I have no fear.
All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears.
Don't cry for me. This is not the end.
I'll be waiting here for you when we meet again.
