Obituary of Willie Jefferson

Mr. Willie Jefferson, the son of Major and Patty Goins Jefferson was born on May 12, 1920 in Goochland, Virginia. He attended school in Powhatan, VA and at an early age he joined the United States Armed Forces - Army. After serving one term in the Army, Willie made Baltimore, MD his home until 2007 when he moved to Powhatan, VA. He enjoyed walking everyday. He was a very independent man. He was tall in statue but yet a quite and humble man. He never said a mean or derogatory thing about anybody or anything. He also loved working on watches in his past time. Willie always kept up with the current events. On Friday, April 8, 2011; God sent his Angel of Mercy to gather one of his most beautiful and precious roses to take home to glory. He is survived by four sisters Gertrude Purrington of NY, Ruth Jefferson of NJ, Lorraine Boyer of PA, Lucille Williams (Ernest) of GA; one brother, Lawrence Jefferson (Ruth) of VA; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be reunited at the hem of our Lord with his father and mother Major and Patty Goins Jefferson and brother, John Jefferson.
