Obituary of Patricia Bernadine Brown Truley
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Bernadine Truley, an extraordinary woman whose life was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering strength.
Born on November 18, 1946, in New York City, she spent her formative years in Manhattan before moving to the Bronx, where she attended James Monroe High School. It was there that she attended prom with her high school sweetheart, Gregory Truley Sr., a cherished memory that marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
As one of eight girls and two boys, Pat was part of a vibrant and loving family that instilled in her the values of resilience, compassion, and a relationship with God. On September 18, 1966, she married Gregory Truley Sr., and shortly thereafter welcomed their son, Gregory Truley Jr. The family relocated to Santa Maria in 1968 and later settled in Santa Barbara, where she pursued her passion for business.
After completing her studies in court stenography and reporting, she embarked on a career in civil service, including a significant role at the post office. However, her true calling came in 1972 when she became a manager at a major bank in Santa Barbara, where her leadership and dedication flourished. In addition to her banking career, she was a licensed masseuse who aspired to open her own spa, "What A Day Spa." This dream reflected her passion for wellness and her desire to help others find relaxation and rejuvenation. Pat was always learning new things, embracing every opportunity for personal and professional growth, and inspiring those around her to pursue their own passions.
Her entrepreneurial spirit inspired her son to establish a successful family business in real estate, where she served as the loan manager, working closely alongside Gregory Truley Jr. and her beloved daughter-in-law, Stephanie. Together, they built a thriving enterprise that reflected her hard work and commitment to family.
As a devoted grandmother to two beautiful girls, Courtney and Jasmine, she cherished every moment spent with them. Her heart swelled with pride at her new title of great grandmother (GiGi) to her great grandson, Skyler. She took great joy in pampering all of them with love—because what are grandmothers for?
She was always dependable, present, and gentle, embodying the love and guidance that her family relied upon. A woman of profound faith, Pat touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and comfort. She was an avid prayer warrior and taught many about her relationship with Christ. Her unwavering love for her family and her steadfast belief in God were the cornerstones of her life. Her laughter was contagious, her style was immaculate, and her sense of humor was spicy. We believe that those who truly loved her will continue to carry her spirit forward. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Rest in peace, our Beloved. You will be missed beyond measure.
