Please share a memory of Kenny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Obituary Kenny Lee Brown aka "Slick" of Cumberland, Virginia was born on January 14, 1956, to Earl and Rosa Johnson Brown. Kenny attended Cumberland Schools and graduated from Cumberland High School in 1974. He was baptized and joined Rocky Mount Baptist Church in Cumberland, VA where he remained a faithful and devoted member. His place of employment includes CPAC, VDOT, Budweiser, his last places of employment were with Taylor Motors and Virginia Department of Agriculture. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Johnson, bonus, father and mother, Eddie and Alma Brown. Kenny (Slick) touched so many lives, he was always willing to drive you somewhere or help in any way that he could, and he never complained. He was a very kind and loving person; he never met a stranger. He loved people and loved spending time with family and friends, especially his church family. He had much love and respect for his Pastor Rev. Larry Smith and First Lady Smith and for his sermons. He would often say "Rev. Smith preached today". Kenny leaves to reflect upon his precious and everlasting memories a loving and devoted son, Travis Brown, (Lorraine); brother, Earl Brown; sister, Phyllis Wynn (Henry); two bonus sisters, Lelia Trent (Gerry), and Sandra Steele (Mac); three grandchildren, Travis Jr., Kamryn, and Ryan; one great granddaughter, Esther Menjivar; one aunt Mildred Carter (James); two uncles, Russell Brown (Camoria) and Carl Brown (Doris); special friend, Mary Robinson; numerous nieces and nephews; an abundance of cousins, and close friends to many to name whom he loved dearly. The Day God Called You Home You never said I'm leaving You never said Goodbye You were gone before we knew it, And only God knew why. A million times we needed you, A million times we cried If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life we loved you dearly In death we love you still In our hearts you hold a place, That no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn't go alone For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.»(Do not delete this line. It does not print.
