Yvonne D. Taylor - Lewis Obituary

Life Story

Yvonne Denise Taylor Lewis entered this world on October 19th, 1963, in Columbia Virginia, to Curtis and Alease Taylor. Her roots were deeply intertwined with family, but life's journey led her to a profound commitment to Christ at an early age, making Pleasant View Baptist Church her spiritual home, where she found harmony in the choir.

A graduate of Cumberland County Public Schools, Yvonne's quest for knowledge persisted as she pursued higher education at Stratford University, culminating in her graduation from the esteemed Medical Billing and Coding Program. Her dedication to learning mirrored her commitment to faith.

Beyond her academic achievement, Yvonne embraced life's joys wholeheartedly. Her love extended to her grandson, DaeDae, and found expression in her passion for travel and the thrill of shopping adventures.

In reflection, she is preceded in death by beloved family members, mother, grandmother, Julia pinky Taylor, grandfather, frank Taylor, and brother Andre, Curtis Taylor Jr. Then her legacy lives on through the cherished memories she leaves behind.

Yvonne is survived by her loving husband, Richard Lewis; her devoted son, Dominique Taylor; grandson Davion Taylor and stepson, Sherod Clark; two sisters, LaVerne Anderson (Gerald), and Yvette Thomas (Gregory); two brothers-in-law, Larry Lewis and Andrew Jackson, a vast circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends join in preserving the beautiful imprint she left on their lives. Special mention is made of her cousin, Annie Riddle, who served as a mother figure, adding a poignant touch tapestry of memories.

Her Smile

Though her smile is gone forever

and her hand I cannot touch.

I still have so many memories,

Of one I loved so much.

Her memory is now my keepsake,

Which with I'll never part

God has her in his keeping

I have her in my heart.

Sadly missed, but never forgotten.
