George Ernest Mayo, Jr. Obituary

Memories are treasures no one can steal.

Death is the heartache nothing can heal.

Some may forget you now that you are gone,

But we shall remember you no matter how long.

George Earnest Mayo was born on August 3, 1953, in Prince Edward County, Virginia to George Mayo, Sr., and Virginia Reed.

At an early age he was baptized at Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church and later moved his membership to New Hope Baptist Church.

He attended Carter G. Woodson School and later the family moved to Goochland, VA. He graduated from Goochland High School. During high school, he liked to play baseball and he and his brother also drove the school bus in Goochland. He was self-employed and his passion was working on trucks. Later he worked part-time for Luckstone.

He enjoyed hunting with his brother and working on the farm.

Early in the morning on Sunday, October 22, 2023, George peacefully

transitioned into eternal rest.
