Arthur "Mannie" Emanuel Harris was preceded in death by friends: James Robinson, Sr, and Gary Martin and survived by his 5 children 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild as well as, friends: "Little" Jerry Brown, Harold Booker, Thomas Brodie, Thomas Carter, Dr. Robert ("Dr. Bob") Easterling, Wayne Randolph, Mitchell Taylor, and Jeta Thomas, Jr. His former brother-in-law Bruce Tate and his wife Minnie Tate were very special to Mannie, and he valued the love they always showed him.

Mannie loved kayaking and fishing on the James River and as well as, bike riding. He rode his bike for years all over New York before relocating in the late 90s to Cumberland, VA to the home he built after retiring from the City of New York. He named his home Whispering Pines, and it was his sanctuary until 2019 when he relocated to Pikesville, MD to be near his daughter and grandchildren.

Mannie's wishes were to be cremated and have his ashes spread along the James River by his friend/brother Bruce Tate.
