Carol Doris Drew Mayo, daughter of William Douglas and Maria Trent Drew, was born on November 11, 1925, in Powhatan, Virginia.
After attending school in Powhatan County, Virginia she moved to Washington, D.C. where she met her husband, Robert (Bob) Lee Mayo. She had a successful career as a Dental Assistant for over 50 years. After living in NY for a number of years they relocated to Rutherford, NJ. Carol loved shopping, fishing, gardening, and donating to charitable causes. After retirement, she and Bob returned to Virginia, making Little Zion Baptist Church their home of worship. She was a thoughtful person who gave generously to friends and family. Always remembering her closest friend's birthdays by sending a wonderful card with money, saying "Here's some money for ice cream (smile)." She touched many people's lives and will be missed by her family and friends.
Carol departed this life on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at her home in Midlothian, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Robert Lee Mayo.
She leaves to mourn her loving daughter, Cynthia Mayo, loving granddaughter, Michelle Sweeney and a host of relatives and friends.
