Arlene Virginia Evans received the gift of life on November 25th, 1938. She was born in Powhatan, VA to Thomas D. Evans and Inez T. Evans.

After studying at VUU, she quickly seized an opportunity and found employment in the business world. Her first job was at the Southern Aid Insurance Company. Over the years, she worked as a secretary for several banks, and retired from the Bank of Virginia.

After an extended illness Arlene peacefully completed her heavenly transition at home on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas D. and Inez T. Evans, sister, Yvonne Evans, and brother, John Durham.

Durham; one nephew, Dante' Evans Sr., (Shaunda); four great nephews, Dante' Evans, Jr., Justis Evans, Jordan Tyree, and Jaylen Tyree; three great nieces, Kira Tyree, LaNya Evans, and Rayah Evans; cousins and friends.

"The Broken Chain"

We little knew that day,

God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide.

And although we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.
