Obituary of Norman "Chubby" Mack Boatwright, Jr.

Obituary Norman "Chubby" Mack Boatwright, Jr. was born September 19, 1957, to Norman and Alberta Boatwright. At an early age, he was baptized and became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Cumberland, Va. Chubby attended Powhatan County Public Schools. When he was 15, he began working for his dad's business, Boatwright Concrete, where he became a partial owner with Jimmie Boatwright in 1996. Forever grateful for one dedicated employee Willie Jones. In addition to the concrete business, he also was employed by Powhatan County from September 1999 until he retired in June 2020. Chubby departed his earthly life on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at St. Francis Medical Center. Chubby was proceeded in death by his parents, Norman Mack Boatwright, Sr., and Alberta Boatwright. He leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife Pamela Boatwright, and children Angel Boatwright and DaRon Fleming (Ashley). Five grandchildren, Riley, Noah, Haven, Carlee, and Oakley. He also leaves to cherish his siblings, Linda Simmons, Angie Harris, Sandra Marshall, Jimmie, Jerome, and Andie (Lisa). Nieces and nephews: Toscha (Terrance), Andre, (Belinda) David, Jr. (Christiana), Tomeka, Tyrone, Lawrence, Kwamaine, Amber, and Micah. Great nieces and nephews; Teri, Daniel, Rayne, Tyjee', Jo'Siah, Arianna, Jeylan, Kona, and Khalil. He leaves a mother-in-law, Marie Fleming, father-in-law, Lonnie Fleming, and three sisters-in-law, Jamie, Sheila, and Lisa Fleming. He leaves a host of cousins and several dedicated friends, Hank Johnson, Sam Taylor, Jr., Roger Brown, Sr., Terry Crayton, Wendell Harper, Jarrett Sayles, and Dale Goins. There will be a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 2:00pm at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2480 Batterson Ave., Powhatan, VA.
