Obituary of Robert Howard Saunders

Robert Howard Saunders, Sr. of the late Bennie and Venetta Saunders, was born on January 23, 1940 in Moore County, North Carolina. He departed this life on August 4, 2009 in Farmville, VA. Robert completed his education at Berkley High School. He was joined in wedlock to Miss Regina Cornish on July 22, 1989. Robert enjoyed outdoors and worked in that field for several years in Pinehurst before moving to Cumberland, VA. He also enjoyed sports such as baseball, basketball, and football. Robert was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bennie Saunders, Jr. Robert leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Regina Saunders; two sons, Robert Saunders, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan and Cecil Purcell (Sonia) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two daughters, Brandy Cealy (Greg) of Southern Pines, NC and Charlotte Kelley" (Kenneth) of Detroit, Michigan; eight grandchildren; one brother, Edward Saunders (Rondel); one sister-in-law, Lennie Saunders; one sister, Jacquelyn Nealy of Southern Pines, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
