She ultimately became rooted in the Apostolic faith under the direction of Bishop James Miller, Jr. Ruth loved her family and enjoyed attending family dinners. In her spare time, she liked completing puzzle books, reading scripture and attending church. She enjoyed traveling and on a Sunday afternoon, often went for rides to see the sights and visit places to eat. She was a loving mother and a hard and dedicated worker. She retired from the Virginia Correctional System after more than twenty years of service. She was known as a skilled and knowledgeable nurse and performed her job duties in a professional manner. In 1992, she married Hassan Zarif. She was a member of Prepaid Legal and was afforded an opportunity to travel extensively. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and staff they comfort me. 5. Thou preparest atable before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." ~ Psalms:23 1-6 "A Mother's Blessing" Blessed is the mother who follows the Lord, so, her children can learn and can grow…. the unselfish mother who holds on with love, yet knows when it's time to let go…. Blessed is the mother whose patient, forgiving, the one who cannot bear a grudge, the one who accepts people just as they are without stopping to question or judge. Blessed is the mother whose faith keeps her going through trials and traumas and cares, who handles the easy with wisdom and love and the not-quite-so-easy with prayers. Blessed is a mother who meets all your needs from the very first day of your birth, Blessed is a mother who shares so much love, for she's God's special Angel on earth. We thank you, Mother, for all you've given and for all you've meant.
