Deborah (Debbie) May Smith Taylor returned to her heavenly home on Friday, June 10, 2022, in New Canton, VA. She was the daughter of Furman Glover Sr. and Maxine Smith Glover born on March 1, 1958, in Charlottesville VA. She joined Third Liberty Baptist Church in New Canton VA at an early age and received her education in the Buckingham County Public Schools System. After graduating, she worked several jobs and retired from Meadows Nursing Center, Goochland VA. Debbie always kept a smile on her face. She touched the lives of so many. She welcomed people into her home and made them feel like family. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings. Her many interests were preparing delicious food dishes and making crafts such as beautiful floral arrangements for special occasions. She is preceded in death by her parents, and best friend Debra Jean Gregory Jefferson. Debbie leaves to cherish fond memories: two devoted sons Clarence W. Taylor Jr. and Benjamin L. Taylor; sisters JeLinda Brown and Roberta Glover White (Samuel), brothers; Ronald Glover (Debra), Furman Glover Jr. (Marilyn), Willis Glover, Perry Glover (DeAnna) and James Glover (Sharon), uncles Marvin Glover, Curley Glover (Brenda), aunts Jean (Nate) McGuire, Clara Glover, Nora Glover, and June Logan; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special friends include Doretha Fleshman, Eva Holman, Jo Anne Harlow, and Gloria Tindall. I'm Free Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work and play. Task left undone must stay that way; I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void. Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much; Good friends, good time, a loved ones touch. Perhaps my time seems all to brief; Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
