Jimmie Wayne Booker was born in Cumberland, VA on July 7, 1955 to George Wesley "Jim" Booker, Sr., and Mary Eliza Swan Booker. Jimmie accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized, and joined Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church, Dillwyn, VA. In later years, he often attended services at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumberland, VA. He attended Buckingham County Schools. Following school, he worked various jobs in the area. Jimmie was employed for several years as a poultry worker for Tyson's Foods. He would often describe his skills used when catching chickens. Jimmie enjoyed ridding his dirt bike in the surrounding woods. He was very fond of Andrew "Butch" Booker, Sr. and enjoyed riding to various nearby communities to sightsee and shop. Jimmie loved to dance, socialize, and have a good time. He was preceded in death by his wife, Claire Booker, parents, and his brother, George Wesley Booker, Jr. He leaves to cherish fond memories; his siblings; Hattie Johnson, Gordon Booker, Clarence Edward Booker, John Booker, Arlene Booker, Chris Tyree, Thomas Booker, four bonus children; devoted friends; Robert Thomas (Hazel), Jeta Thomas (Loretha), Thomas Brodie, Gwendolyn "Poochie" Jefferson, Edward "Bubba" Brooks, Jr., Kovalensky Brooks, Barbara Ann Scruggs, Neil Scruggs, Tommy Joe Booker, Raymond Booker, Francis Booker, James Swan, Elaine Rose, Mary Ann Swan, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved cat, Tiger. In my father's house there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2 NKJV "His Journey's Just Begun" Don't think of him as gone away his journey's just begun Life holds so many facets This earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no day and no years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today, how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched. For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much.
