Obituary
Obituary of Jerome Samuels
Please share a memory of Jerome to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jerome Bobby Samuels was born November 4, 1963, to Francis Harris and Robert Samuels. He and his siblings grew up in Maryland where he was baptized and his love for GoGo music was planted and blossomed. In his early teen years, he moved to Virginia where he continued his education at Cumberland County Public Schools. His love for engineering, mechanics, and money led him to work for Adams Pontiac for a number of years. He had a love for fast cars-especially his mustangs!!
Jerome was a kind and loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He could always be seen driving his truck (or someone else's) hauling mulch or wood from one place to another. He was known to many as 'Romeo', 'Rome', Jah-Bo, and Loverboy. He'd have a black n mild tucked behind his ear, and music blasting from his stereo. He was the kind of man that would give his very last to the next person and never think twice. He loved the Good Lord and his family dearly.
If you knew him, you'd know the following things:
Horseshoes was game of choice in the summer, and he was a BEAST
He loved dogs, and in fact, he'd probably brought one home each week
The Redskins was his team!! Hands Down!
He was always on his bike and should have probably been in a bike race.
He loved music and used to DJ at Cooks in Goochland.
He NEVER let his stutter stop him from a good debate or from telling you how much he loved you.
In 1981 he started his legacy and built a family that would later be his 3 daughters that he would talk about to anyone who met him. His proudest work, he encouraged them, planned trips, dinners, and hustled to help provide for them any chance he could. Known as 'Superman' to them, he'd defeated many bike, car, and bar accidents, until the Lord said it was time to come home to rest.
On Thursday, March 3, 2022, Jerome Bobby Samuels was rescued to heaven.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father Robert Samuels, mother Francis Harris, grandmother, Novella, and his brothers Tyrone and Larry.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Shamonaca Johnson (Doron), Iesha, and Kiara, 3 grandchildren Dyhahji, Danae, and Destini, his siblings Barbara Taliaferro (Faurice), Robert Jr., Teresa, Shirley, and Trina Brown (Clyde), a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces, and nephews, 3 uncles, beloved family and friends, and a cat named Gracie. We thank the Lord for the time granted with him. May God let him finally rest in everlasting love and peace.
