Otis Francis Palmore was born the son of the late Bernard and Ada Liggins Palmore in Powhatan County. He passed peacefully, Friday, December 31, 2010 at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Otis was born July 25, 1927 in Powhatan, Virginia. He attended Powhatan Public School System. It was in 1950 that he met and fell in love with Annie Mae Clayborne. From their marriage came six children in a love affair that lasted 60 years. During his early years while helping to rear his family, Otis served in the United States Navy and the United States Army. In the United States Army, Otis served as a medic and para trooper in World War II and the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Otis served as Mason for many years. Additionally Otis was employed for over 40 years at R.C. Goodwyn Co. where he wore many hats. Otis was baptized at an early age in Ballsville, VA. He was a caring person who loved his family and his grandchildren. Otis was a man of few words who would do anything for anyone without any complaints. He was a lover of cars, trucks and especially western films. Otis was a man who lived his life on his own terms. Otis leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Annie Mae Palmore, two loving daughters, Mae Hall, Shirley Reavis (Lamar), devoted sons; Eric Palmore (Deborah), Francis Palmore (Paulette), Kenneth Palmore (Crystal); 6 grandchildren, Clayton, Erica, Chamille, Erin, Paul and Kariama. Brother; Marvin Palmore (Polly Ann), Sisters; Violet Gordon, Ophelia Moore, Mother in law Rosetta Smothers (Mum Zetta), a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Leo, brothers Bernard Jr., Vincent and Harold, sisters Evelyn and Juanita.
