He was known for telling stories to everyone he met, whether the stories were true or not. If you ever met him, you would never forget him. He loved family gatherings and tried to show his dancing skills every now and then. He loved old school music. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was the "Protector" of the family. Leonard departed this life on September 22, 2021, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Brenda Foster. He leaves to cherish fond memories: one daughter, Shekiva Foster; one son, Leonard Foster, Jr.; one grandson, Terius Elliott; four sisters, Sharon Johnson, Teresa Booker (Wayne) and Senata Holman (Eddie) and Josephine Wilkerson; one brother, Warren Wilkerson; one aunt, Valerie Adewuyi (Sulaiman); one uncle, Robert Claiborne and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, two devoted, Michelle Sahm and Horace Ford. "A Silent Tear" Just close your eyes and you will see All the moments that you have of me Just sit and relax and you will find I'm really still there inside your mind Don't cry for me now, I'm gone For I am in the land of the song There is no pain, there is no fear So dry away that silent tear Don't think of me in the dark and cold For here I am, no longer old I'm in that place that's filled with love Known to you all as "up above." - Author Unknown
