Obituary of Wayne L. Johnson

Wayne Johnson, "Luke", as he was known by family and friends, gained his wings and went to rejoin his heavenly family on Sunday July 4, 2021. He was born on February 1, 1962 to Lawrence Johnson and Pearline Mayo Johnson. He was baptized and joined Little Fork Church at a early age.
Wayne attended Cumberland County Public Schools, and later on moved to Richmond, VA. Where he worked most of life as a concrete finisher until his health began to fail. He was very good at what he did, Wayne was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone, he had a kind heart and loved fishing, Wayne would fish everyday if he could. He also loved socializing with his family and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his Father, Lawrence Johnson; Mother, Pearline Johnson; Grandparents, Grant and Martha Mayo; Aunt, Mary Davis and Clara Surles.
Wayne leaves to cherish his fond memories, two daughters, Nieasha Barnes (Atoro); Tameasha Dewitt: one son, Wayne Wardelle. One brother, Lawrence Johnson Jr.: six sisters, Judy Morris (Michael): Charlene Davis (John): Cynthia Ruffin (Eric): Shelia Johnson, Tina Dixon (Shaun): Angela Evans (Tyrone). four grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; a devoted friend, Tim Seward.
He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and will be forever in our hearts.
Don"t cry for me, l'm not gone.
My soul is at rest, my heart lives on.
Light a candle for me to see
and hold on to my memory,
but save your tears for l'm still here,
by your side through the years.
