John Odell Sims departed this life on Thursday, November 12, 2010 at Lexington Court Rehab & Health Center in Richmond, Virginia.
John was born January 3, 1949 to John B. Sims and Ruth Cooper. He attended Goochland County Public Schools.
At an early age John accepted Christ and was baptized at Second Union Baptist Church. He was joined in matrimony to the Ruth Trent on February 4, 1967.
John was employed with Richmond Foundry and Parrish Dairy Farm until his health failed.
He leave to cherish his memories: six children, Joyce Trent, Dale Trent (Adrienne), John Sims, Jr. (Cheryl), Steve Johnson (Cheryl), Doris Sims (Richard), and Michael Sims (Toyya); two sisters, Clara Sims and Ruby Lane; fourteen grandchildren, four sisters -in- laws, four brothers -in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
