Orlander C. Woodson, the son of the late Alfred and Eva Mayo, was born in Cumberland County, Virginia on November 4, 1935. On January 11, 2020 he went home to be with The Lord. Early in life he was converted, baptized and joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He attended the public schools in Cumberland County and joined the United States Marines upon graduation. Orlander and Yvonne joined Second Baptist Church in 1958. In the year of 1959, he was joined in wedlock to Yvonne G. Hatcher, from this union three children were born. His wife, Yvonne and one son, Arthur E. Woodson preceded him in death. For more than thirty years Orlander was employed by the United States Postal Service. During his employment, Orlander received many accommodations and awards. He was a kind and loyal person who always had time to help others. He worked tirelessly to provide the comforts of life for his family. He leaves to cherish fond memories: his son, Calvin A. Woodson (Marie); his daughter, Olinga W. Scales (Jeffrey); eight grandchildren, Orlando Woodson (Stacy) Bettina, Anita and Caylor Scales, Ardrianna, Quentin and Katelyn Woodson, Dawn Smith-Barnes (Kevin);, one great granddaughter, Devin Barnes; one brother-in-law, Richard H. Hatcher (Earleen) and a number of cousins, other relatives and friends.
