Aaron Filmore Green, Sr. was born on July 6, 1949 in Cumberland, Virginia to the late James Russell Green and Audrey Odella Bartee Green. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and became a member of the Tearwallet Baptist Church in Cumberland, VA. Aaron graduated from Luther P. Jackson High School in 1967. Following his graduation, he joined the Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant and earned the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge. After his honorable discharge from the military, Aaron was employed at the Stackpole Company for many years and then begin working at the Powhatan Correctional Center from which he retired with the rank of Lieutenant. Following his retirement, he began part-time employment at the Central Virginia Community Health Center in New Canton, VA as a driver until his health began to fail. Aaron was a kind, soft hearted person who was very devoted to his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Sci-Fi movies, dancing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. You could see his eyes light up anytime he was around the grands. He was married to Carolyn James Green who preceded him in death. From this union one son, Aaron Filmore Green, Jr. was born. He later met and married Helen J. Manns in 2002. On October 10, 2019 our Heavenly Father called his beloved angel, Aaron Filmore Green, Sr., home to eternal rest. Aaron leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife, Helen Johnson Manns Green; four sons, Aaron Filmore Green, Jr. of Cumberland, VA, Keshawn Manns (Christina), of Chesterfield, VA, Keifton Manns (Melody) of Chesterfield, VA and Joseph Manns, Cumberland, VA; six grandchildren, Adrean Thomas, Kyiah Manns, Ari Manns, Nadia Manns, Christian Manns and Madison Manns; one loving sister, Theresa Green Dabney (James) of Cumberland, VA; motherin- law, Lottie J. Woodson of Buckingham, VA; two brothers-in-law, John Johnson (Caroline) of Cumberland, VA and Rev. James Johnson (Rev. Gladys) of Goochland, VA; sister-in-law, Eunice J. Dickerson of Doha, Qatar. He also leaves to cherish his memory: a very special nephew, Anthony L. "Buck" Green (Sheila) of Cumberland, VA; a devoted friend, Larry Booker (Angela) of Buckingham, VA and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
