Obituary of Leenell Owens

On Sunday, June 23, 2019 God sent his angels to Bon View Healthcare Facility on Forest Hill Ave. Richmond, Virginia to bring his daughter Leenell Owens home. Leenell was born March 27, 1918 to the late John Jasper Brown and Mary Crump Brown in Powhatan County Virginia.

She accepted Christ at an early age where she was a lifetime member of Mount Pero Baptist Church. Leenell, served on the Usher Board for many years. Which she truly enjoyed.

Leenell was educated in the Powhatan Public School System in Powhatan, Virginia. She later moved to Richmond, Virginia and united in marriage to William Owens. She relocated to New York where she worked for several years, before returning to Richmond, Virginia where she diligently worked as a domestic engineer for many years.

Leenell was preceded in death by her loving parents, son, four sisters, two brothers, three nephews, and one great nephew.

Leenell leaves to cherish her sweet memory, one devoted loving son Ronald D. Owens; four nieces, Mary, Lucille (Robert), Queen (Edward), and Gail (Kenny); one niece-in-law, Roberta Brown; a host of great nieces, and nephews; great-great nieces, and nephews; great-great-great nieces, and nephews, numerous cousins and friends.

Leenell loved and cared about people in the purest way. She had the capacity to bring happiness to all those around her. Thank you, God, for allowing us to know and love her.

Road to Eternity

Life is but a stopping place, A pause in what's to be.

A resting place along the road, To Sweet Eternity.

We all have different journeys; Different paths along the way.

We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place, far greater than we know.

For some the journey's quicker, For some the journey's slow.

But when the journey finally ends, we'll claim a great reward.

And find an everlasting peace, Together with the Lord.
