Sylestine B. Davis, 91, departed this life April 26, 2019 in Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth. Born in Cumberland, VA. She resided in Roselle 54 years.
She was a graduate of Virginia State College in Ettrick, VA. Before moving to New Jersey, She taught at the historic Thyne Institute in Chase City, VA. After moving to New Jersey, she was a school teacher at Louise A. Spencer Elementary in Newark.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset for over 20 years.
She is predeceased by her husband Alfred Davis, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons Alfred Davis, Jr. (Dianna) of Montclair, NJ., Darnell and Ardee Frizzell Davis both of Roselle, NJ.; one grandson Alfred Davis, III of Montclair; three sisters Alease Colona, Shirley Higgs and Yvonne Brooks. Also surviving are other relatives and friends.
