Obituary of Frank Edgar Rudd
Please share a memory of Frank to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Thursday, April 25, 2019, an angel of mercy came into our midst and gave eternal rest to Frank Edgar Rudd. He was born in Skinquarter, Virginia on March 18, 1929 to the late Meade and Lizzie Rudd. He was one of six children.
Frank accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Beulah Baptist Church in Moseley, Va.
He served in several ministries, with the choir being one of his favorites. Frank was a successful entrepreneur. He was co-owner and operator with his son, of Rudd's Appliance Repair in Richmond, VA. for over 20 years until his retirement in 2002.
On June 14, 1952, Frank was joined in matrimony to Doris Juanita Gaskin. From this union, were born four children; one daughter and three sons.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 61 years, Doris Rudd; his son, Garry Rudd; two grandchildren, Stefan and Santana Rudd; parents, Meade and Lizzie Rudd; sister, Naomi Jones; brothers, Walter, Clinton, Milton and Joseph Rudd.
He leaves to carry on his legacy: his daughter, Darlene Rudd Morris (Michael); two sons, Franklin Rudd (Lynn) and Ronald Rudd (Tara); daughter-in-law, Victoria Rudd; sisters-in-law, Norma Rudd and Josephine Gaskin; ten grandchildren, Derik Rudd, Nikolette Rivers, Monica Rudd, Justin Morris, Jeremy Rudd, Tiffany M. Mylius (Bronson), Teyla Marancik, Marissa Henson, Fabian and Zachary Rudd; fifteen great-grandchildren; two step great-grandsons; a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
There is an open gate at the end of the road
Through which each must go alone.
And there, in a light we cannot see,
Our Father claims His own.
Beyond the gate your loved ones
Find happiness and rest.
And there is comfort in the thought
That a loving God knows best.
