Obituary of Calvin Norwood Mayberry

Calvin Norwood Mayberry, Sr. was born on December 20, 1934 in Appomattox, Virginia. He was one of six children born to Howard and Reva Viola Mayberry. "Chuck" as he was called by most people attended school in Chesterfield, Virginia. On February 23, 1954 he married Shirley Marie Compton and from this union two sons were born. "Chuck" turned his life over to the Lord at a young age and spent many years as the Pastor of a Pentecostal church in Richmond, Virginia. As the founding Pastor of the church, Reverend Mayberry and his wife, Shirley had a calling to help the youth of all races and nationalities. They took the youth in their congregation to numerous summer revival camps at Pocahontas State Park in Chesterfield, Virginia. In recent years, Reverend Mayberry enjoyed attending the Church of God in Blackstone, Virginia, Shiloh Pentecostal Holiness in Chesterfield, Virginia and Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cumberland, Virginia. In addition to being, a Pastor, Reverend Mayberry was also a highly skilled caulking contractor. He helped to complete numerous jobs such as Walmart, Lowes, schools, hospitals, etc. in Virginia and in other states. "Chuck" is survived by a loving son Calvin N. Mayberry, Jr. (Rita), and Younger son Terry Wayne Mayberry (Peggy); Five grandchildren, Shawn Mayberry (Holly), Nicole Mayberry, Jarrett Mayberry, Rebecca Mayberry (Sam) and Josh Mayberry; four great-grandchildren, Madison Mayberry, Jackson Mayberry, Rustin Mayberry, and Nathaniel Mayberry; two brothers-in-law, Arville Compton (Gloria), and Ray Compton; one sister-in-law, Beulah Baughan (Cecil); an additional loving daughter-in-law, Debbie Tait, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
