Obituary of Arthur Levi Langhorne

Arthur Levi Langhorne was born July 14, 1931 to the late Lelia
Atkins and George Langhorne in Cumberland, Virginia. Arthur was educated
in Cumberland, Virginia. At a very young age he was baptized and received
Christ and became a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. As Arthur
matured, he was joined in matrimony to Eliza Mae Pryor.
Life's journey took them to Riverhead, New York where they both
lived until their passing. Arthur was a man of multiple trades, He worked as
a truck driver, meat packer, farmer warehouse man, and builder. His extracurricular
activities included hunting, politics, and sports. He joined Tyre
Lodge 91 Masons in the late 70s and advanced to Master Mason in 1977.
Arthur passed away peacefully March 30, 2018 surrounded by his
family. He was predeceased by his wife, Eliza Mae Langhorne; his son, Larry
Langhorne; grandsons, Marcus Blake and Tremaine Langhorne; nine brothers,
Earnest, John, Warren, William, Jacob, Joseph, Jesse, Ivy, and Andrew; and
one sister, Rosa Trent.
He leaves to morn two daughters, Dorothy Allen of Riverhead,
New York and Arlene Blake (Ajay) of Weaver, Alabama; six sons, George
(Rebecca) of Riverhead, New York, Earnest (Sara) of Bronx, New York, Lester
of Riverhead, New York, Ronnie (Toni) of Columbus, Ohio, Joseph (Sara) of
Georgetown, Texas, and Bernard of Riverhead, New York; one sister, Alma
Brown; four sisters-in-law, Patty Langhorne, Pearl Trent, Marilyn Hill, and
Evonne Trent; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and a
host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
