Calvin D. Ford departed this life on Thursday, August 5, 2010. He was born on November 22, 1961 in Cumberland, Virginia to Lynn and Lottie Ford. He attended Cumberland School. At an early age he joined Pleasant View Baptist Church. Calvin was employed by Dekalb Hatcher for twenty years, two years for Steve Schweikert, Mike Harris Construction for seven years and Frank & Charles Baber for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lucille Robinson and Nancy Bratcher. He is survived by: his wife, Sylvia Ford; six children, Darren, Latanya, Gwendolyn, Latoya, Nancy, and Shalexius; three step children, Tracy Brooks (Curtis), Hope Donikin, and Latasha Gilliam; twelve grandchildren, Keion, Ikia, Tykai, Ikara, Xavier, Jamirror, DyQuan, Bria, Aerryn, Jywan, Jamariah, and Jaeliah; three brothers, Pastor Maurice Ford (Fleashia), Vincent Ford (Linda) and James Shelton; six sisters, Maggie Smith, Mary Smith, Lottie Smith, Frances Robinson (Gerald), Susan Smith, and Barbara Massenburg (Keith, Sr.); three uncles, Lloyd Ford, Norman Ford and George Johnson; three aunts, Annie Ford, Mattie Robinson and Constance Ford; two brothers-in-law, Woodrow Donikin and John Robinson; two sisters-in-law, Betty Boatwright and Odessa Clark.
