Obituary of James W Johnson
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On August 18, 2017, our beloved father, brother, and friend, James Wesley Johnson, also known as "Hubba Bubba", was called to eternal rest after a brief illness. He was born on March 7, 1955 in Cumberland, Virginia to Wesley Elijah Hubbard and Eliza Mae Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death.
James attended the Cumberland County Public School System. He was a hard-worker, having numerous jobs throughout his lifetime. He was employed by Charlton Farms, Gilliam Motors Company, and he ended his career on April 30, 2017 at Seay's Milling and Machinery Company where he was a Small Engine Repair Technician.
James was affectionately known. He made a lasting impression on all who met him. He could make you smile and laugh when you felt like crying. He was a true friend to everybody. You could always find him at Clements Wood Yard in Dillwyn, Virginia with his friends. He loved listening to music, dancing, mud bogging, tractor pulling, and spending time with his family and loved ones. His humorous jokes will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Gregory Jones (Melissa), Danny Booker (Myra), and Tyrone Anderson; three daughters, Theresa Booker, Jameka Johnson Bowles, and Michelle Wright; a stepmother, Mable Dora Hubbard; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Randy Hubbard; three sisters, Clara Reid, Adell Sims, and Pearline Marshall (Clay); two step-sisters, Josephine and Hazel Brooks; two aunts, Elmo Armstead and Willie Ruby Moore; children that he reared as his own, George Anderson, Laurel Companion, and Angela Anderson; devoted friend and caregiver, Linda Wright, devoted friend, Sue Anderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
