Obituary of Annie Mae Johnson

Please share a memory of Annie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Annie Mae Johnson, a daughter of the late Wort Hampton and Ellen Scott Hampton, was born on November 3, 1935 in Cartersville, Virginia. Annie accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope Baptist Church. Annie loved her church where she graciously served on the Missionary Ministry, The Usher's Ministry and the Choir Ministry. Annie was joined in wedlock to Cleveland Johnson and from this union seven children were born. Annie worked many years at St. Emma School and St. Francis Schools in Powhatan, Virginia. After the closing of the schools there, she was employed with Children's World until she retired to take care of her mother. Annie loved cooking, bingo, and spending time with family and friends. On Monday, March 13, 2017, she was called to rest at her residence after a long battle with cancer. She was a loving mother, sister, and friend that will truly be missed by all. She leaves to cherish fond memories three sons, Robin Johnson (Helen), Teddy Johnson, and Cleveland Johnson; four daughters, Cally Davis (Nigel), Barbara Crump (Spencer), Caroline Brown (Raymond), and Ellen Haley (Luther); 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, five great-greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mary Ellen Liggon (Robert); and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; cousins and friends.
