Obituary of Vernell Turner

Vernell Turner "Moose", a daughter of the late, Henry and Louise Young Turner was born March 18, 1942 in Goochland County, Virginia. She was educated in the Goochland Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church, in Goochland, VA. She later moved her membership to Providence Baptist Church in Chester, Pennsylvania. She was a devoted choir member under the leadership of the late Pastor McGee. Her move to Pennsylvania transcended while she was in her twenties until her health began to fail. Vernell was employed by Northrop Grumman and she also held various jobs in the health professions in Pennsylvania. Her retirement was greatly welcomed by her. She enjoyed entertaining family and friends especially at her home. There were cook outs and family gatherings throughout the summers at her home. She loved the casinos and traveling to various places. We will always remember her assertiveness that made her the matriarch but a loving person deep down inside. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Henry Turner; 2 brothers, Howard Turner of Virginia and Henry Turner (Ellen) of the District of Columbia. She leaves to cherish her memories five sisters, Ella Turner of VA, Hazel Williamson, PA, Ruth Jefferson (Lawrence) of VA, Ollie Turner of VA, Shirley Jennings of PA; 2 brothers, John Turner (Diane) of VA, and Tyrone Turner, PA; And a host of nephews and nieces.
