Obituary of Verta Lee Sims

Verta Lee Sims, daughter of the late Edward and Myrtle Murray was born April 18, 1938 in St. Clairsville, Ohio. She was one of nine children. She attended St. Clairsville Public School System. After marrying Reuben Taylor Sims in 1966, they relocated to Cumberland, Virginia. She then joined Tearwallet Baptist Church. Verta was a homemaker, caring not only for her children but the children of many others. On May 11, 2010 at Centura Southside Community Hospital, Farmville, VA, she was called home to be with Christ The Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Reuben Taylor Sims, 3 sons, Richard Losey (Barbara) of Cumberland, VA, Carlton Losey (Angel) of Richmond, VA, Michael Losey (Heather) of Columbus, Ohio; 2 daughters, Diana Losey and Deborah Losey of Cumberland, VA.; 9 beloved grandchildren, Ronald Losey, Ricahard "Jessie" Losey (Dinira) , Shayla Losey, Liberty, "Libby" Losey, Carla Losey, Jennifer Losey, Jarrad Losey, Nikki Losey, and Leanna Bauer; 4 great grandchildren, Adrianna Losey, Ronald Losey, Jr., Javonta Losey and Aniyla Losey; 2 sisters, Donna Dabney - Cunningham (Bernie) and Mary Baker; 5 brothers, Doug Murray (Judy), Don, Frank, Jim and Joe Murray; 5 sisters-in-law, Shirley Webb (Clarence), Carolyn Johnson (John), Lillian Smith (Marvin), Evelyn Sims and Edna Sims; 2 brothers-in-law Howard Sims, Jr. (Dorothy) and Calvin Thurston; Special Mention Niece Tina "Granny" Fleisher, great niece, Deanna Sims and Goddaughter, Shardae Griggs and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends.
