Obituary of Sinclair Brooks

Sinclair Brooks, son of Willie and Alice Scott Brooks was born May 13, 1927 in Cumberland, Virginia.
Sinclair received his education at Cumberland County Public Schools. After school he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served from April 1946 until June 1947.
On December 26, 1948 he was united in holy matrimony to Mattie Davenport Brooks; his wife of 50 years. From that union they were blessed with eight children.
Sinclair enjoyed being employed as a school bus driver and a mechanic for the Cumberland County Public Schools for many years; until he retired. After retirement his enjoyment became watching game shows and westerns and sitting on his front porch watching the cars go by.
On Monday, June 20, 2016 in Farmville God called him home. He was preceded in death by parents, wife, and four children, Daniel, Stanley, Brenda and James.
Sinclair will be remembered by his four children, Drucilla, Ruth (Gilbert), Thomas and Michael; 20 grandchildren, 24 great- grandchildren, 3 great- great children; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Brooks; one brother-in-law, William Davenport (Lottie) along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
