Joyce & Family,
We, the Amelia County High School Class of 1972, wish to extend our deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your Mother. Your Mom was an extraordinaire woman, known for her wide hats and driving her Lincoln Town car. Please know that we are here for you and your family.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
In Deepest Sympathy,
The Amelia County High School Class of 1972

I first met Horace and Lillian Montague when I was in my 20's studying a capella music in Virginia. They ended up becoming like family to me there. Their grace was boundless, and as I would come to see, was reflected in their children and grandchildren as well. I was supposed to be there for a job, but Lillian turned it into a refuge for me, a place where I found warmth, connection, joy, humor, goodness, and so much more that I will never forget. She fed me, housed me, helped me meet people, and was a genuine friend. She was also a model for others. I learned about endurance from her, which to this day I talk about, and promote as an undervalued and unrecognized virtue. She had it in droves. I know she touched the lives of many others, also, beyond her family - her church, the people she sang with and the people she sang for, her neighbors. And I'm sure every single child on the school bus she drove became a better person just because she greeted them every day. May she, along with her husband, Reverend Montague, rest in peace.

May God's Love; Peace; Power and Strength envelope each of you during this difficult time. Deaconess Montague was a women who had a warm and wonderful spirit. She always greeted us with a smile that could light up any room. Her elegance and grace was priceless. Her demeanor was that of a mighty woman of God. She will truly be missed by the "Lewis Duo". On behalf of myself and Rev. Nathaniel Lewis I would like to offer our condolences and do know that we will lift you all in prayer. May Gods grace continue to be with you. Hugs and Love.

We are saddened to hear of the death of your mother.
We am sure that you shared a deep family bond, and it is the kind of bond that will not be forgotten in the days and weeks ahead.
We want to assure you that you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time, and we know the same God who has helped you with past trials, will be ever present during this one as well.
Death seems so "final", however, it is important to remember that the Bible makes it clear for those who love the Lord, and have trusted Him as Savior, that it is actually only the beginning of an eternity in Heaven with those who have gone on before. Most importantly, we will one day see Jesus who made this all possible!
We want to encourage you to keep your faith and trust in God during this time, even when you do not understand His ways.
May God continue to give you in his peace at this time of grief and sadness.
