Obituary of Earl James Connor

Earl James Connor was born in Richmond, Virginia on October l, 1954 to Leroy and Nannie Connor.
Earl was born with the disability of cerebral palsy. He did not let his handicap stop him from accomplishing whatever wish or desire he had. Earl was baptized in the name of Jesus at an early age in a creek in Blackstone, Virginia.
He was baptized with the Holy Ghost in his later years. Earl played football and basketball with family and friends. His football team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Earl would call his father to remind him about the Redskin and VCU games coming on TV. He also made it his priority to keep his father aware of other games. Earl would call his mother every day to find out how the family was doing. He was educated in the Richmond Public School System. He worked at various nursing facilities throughout the city, maintaining perfect attendance. He was awarded for being employee of the year several times. Earl was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and loving son and brother.
Preceded in death by great grandparents, Carrie Hayden (Bernard); grandparents, Addie and Roy Sutton, Alberta Hawkins (John); devoted aunt, Rebie Jones; brother, Leonardo Connor; sister, Brenda Joyner; and sister-in-law, Marie Sanderson.
He is survived by his wife, Shelia Connor; son, Terrance Connor; 3 daughters, Latoya Hill, Victoria Connor and Dominique Connor (devoted); 5 grandsons, Qualik Hill, Jaemon Johnson, Joseph Johnson III, Mavin Dodson and Devonte Connor; granddaughters, Deonna and DeMya Connor; parents, Pastor Leroy and Nannie Connor; brothers, Ricky Connor (Delcey), Milton Connor (Gale), Major Harris Jr., Frankie Joyner, John Joyner (Savina); 3 sisters, Anita Weigl, Gina and Chandra Connor; mother-in-law,
Sallie Sanderson. brothers-in-law, Greg and Larry Hill; sisters-in-law, Brenda Sanderson, Delphine Sanderson and Monica Taliaferro; 2 uncles, Essom Foreman (Judy) Of Huntsville, Alabama and Melvin Sutton (Avis) of Maryland and aunt, Shirley Thrower. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Among them devoted, Brenda Cotman (sister), Deborah Connor and Twanna Brooks.
