Obituary of Carrie Williams

Please share a memory of Carrie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carrie Williams known to many as "Momma" was born to the late Benjamin and Carrie Hatcher in Cartersville, Virginia on June 11, 1931. She attended the local public school system. Then at an early age she moved to New Jersey. Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Everyone will miss her loving kindness and special traits that included her openness to speak her mind. One of her favorite phrases was, "It's gonna be alright." She loved to sew, and had a love for collecting what-nots, elephants, plants, and dolls. She enjoyed taking care of family, spending time with the grandkids, and talking on the telephone. Another enjoyable pleasure was traveling, something she often did with her daughter, Pat. Momma was predeceased by her loving husband, Clevester Williams, Sr; sisters, Katie Brown, Jackie Hatcher and Viola Hatcher; brothers, Benjamin Hatcher, Jr., Horace Hatcher, Frank Hatcher and William J. Hatcher. She leaves to cherish and mourn: her children, Luauna "Pat" Hatcher of Paterson, NJ, Vernon (Fran) Williams of Raeford, NC; grandchildren, Rocky Williams, Shaquette Adams, Marcus Williams, Jared Williams, Naisha Wilson, Kiyana (Gary) Brown, Leonard (Eboni) Stamps and Ava Toon, all from various areas; along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. She was a lifelong member of New Hope Baptist Church and will be sadly missed.
