Obituary of Jennie Virginia Trent

Jennie Virginia Trent (Dee Dee) the daughter of the late William and Patti Johnson was born on February 24,1934 in Cumberland Va. She was reared at home with her parents and ten siblings with eight preceding her in death. At an early age she was converted and baptized at Rocky Mount Church where she remained a faithful member. She also attended the Cumberland County School System.
Jennie was married to the late Deacon George Trent and from this union six children were born with one the youngest, Roy Trent preceding her in death. Jennie was employed by the Cumberland County Clerks office for many years. After her services there, she took many jobs as a private caregiver until her health began to decline.
Jennie was loved by everyone who knew her. Her bright, witty personality would bring a smile to anyone's face no matter how down they were. Everyone who knew her has a story to tell. She remained in Cumberland County until she quietly went home on the morning of October 17, 2015 at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond Virginia. Her loving caring spirit will forever be missed.
She leaves to cherish two daughters, Kathleen Hubbard (Phillip) of Cumberland Va. and Mary Veney of Richmond VA; three sons, Leslie Trent, James Trent and George Trent (Lisa) all of Cumberland; two sisters, Elmo Armstead(John) of Farmville VA.; and Willie Ruby Moore of North Carolina, twenty-six grandchildren, one of whom she called her best friend Tamonica Hubbard-Brooks, and a grandson who spent many nights at the hospital with her Anthony Trent (Nicole); twenty-two great-grandchildren, one who was the love of her life O'Ryan Fowlkes who gave her the name Dee Dee; two sisters in Christ Vera Mayo and Lois Langhorne both of Cumberland Va.; dozens of grandchildren in Christ and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also had a grandaughter, Tarika Veney that thought of her as a second mother. She also had so many others that thought of her as mom including; Hazel Jefferson, Eunice Harper and Joan Crawley.
