Obituary of John Henry Deane

John Henry Deane, one of the two sons of the late Johnny Deane and Alease Hatcher, was born on November 17, 1932 in Cumberland County, Virginia. Henry, as he was affectionately called, attended the public schools in Cumberland County, VA. He was baptized and joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church. His brother, James Edward Deane, with whom he was very close, preceded him in death. Henry was blessed with two children with the late Dorothy Lee Mayo, a daughter Doris and a son John. Later, Henry married Gracie Taylor, who preceded him in death. From this union, a son, Henry was born. Henry was a loving, caring person, especially to his grandchildren. He was a kind soul that would help everybody and anybody. He will mostly be remembered for his big smile and whole-hearted chuckle. He will be truly missed. Henry was called Home on October 2, 2015. He leaves to mourn: one daughter, Doris Mayo Charity (Walker); two sons, John Mayo and Henry Deane (Chiquita); one former daughter-in-law, Amanda Deane; one niece, Pamela Jackson (Franklin); one grandson, Christopher Deane; five granddaughters, Chelsea Deane, Chantel Charity, Tiffany Mayo, Johnita Coston (John), and Tashiana Ivy (Daniel); three great- grandchildren, London Coston, Grant Ivy, and Grayson Ivy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
