Edna Violet Sturdivant departed this life on March 23, 2010 in Midlothian, VA. She was born November 25, 1910 to Violet Sturdivant in Red Bank, New Jersey. Edna was converted September of 1922 under Rev. John Jordan. She attended school at Belmead. Edna worked as a domestic for 20 years, then she went on to work at St. Emma in the laundry department. She later became a Nanny and worked for the Williams Family until 1985 when she became unable to work. Edna was affectionately known as Mama Ed. to many. She leaves to cherish one son, Nash L. Sturdivant, two daughters; Evelyn L. Loftin and Elsie(Isreal) Glanton; one grandson Clarence E. Loftin, one granddaughter, Patricia (Gerald) Russell, one step granddaughter Bernita Bryant; two great granddaughters Tarajee W. and Brittney J. Russell; one foster son Alvin J. Bolling; 2 cousin Rosetta Smothers and Sallie Robinson; devoted friends who were like her children, Waverly Taylor and Paul & Inga Brown. She also leaves to cherish her CNA Rev. Dorothy Gilliam who took very good care of her, and her domino buddies, Marble Gilliam, Ruth Bell, and Katie James; also a host of relatives and friends.
