Obituary of Marion Anderson Nash
Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marion Anderson Nash gracefully entered into eternal rest in her home on Friday, July 17, 2015, with her husband, son, daughter and son-in-law at her bedside.
Marion was born May 23, 1945, to the late James B. and Mary E. Anderson in Cumberland County, Virginia. She was baptized at an early age and joined the Rising Zion Baptist Church. Later in her life
she moved her Christian home to the Center Union Baptist Church with her husband.
She attended the Cumberland County Public Schools and completed her high school degree in Riverhead, Long Island, New York. Marion had a lifelong passion for learning and was an avid
reader. She enjoyed singing, loved gardening (especially flowers), crafts and sewing. She also loved nature and animals, (especially bird watching). She spent her life being a devoted homemaker and
bookkeeper for the family business.
On March 15, 1962, she lovingly joined in holy matrimony to Morris L. Nash. To this marriage two lovely and devoted children were born.
She answered God's calling as a Sunday school teacher, pianist and choir member. She was a dedicated member of Center Union Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was also a faithful member of Gideon International Auxiliary.
Marion was preceded in death by her mom, dad, and all of her siblings. Marion leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband, Deacon Morris L. "Mutt" Nash; one son, Kelvin Nash; one
daughter, Janice N. Goode (Richard); two grandsons, Andre (Fiancé Gabriella), and Shon; three sisters-in-law, Nancy (Jonnie), Delores and Polly; one brother-in-law, Ernest; a host of nieces, one loving
and devoted, Rhonda Anderson, nephews, cousins, and friends, one especially devoted, Cora Cooke.
