Obituary of Dorsey McKinley Cross

Today, we give reverence to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for blessing the late Winfield Criss and the late Dorothy Booker Criss with their son, Dorsey McKinely Criss on August 24, 1949 in Orange, NJ. Dorsey grew up in Newark, NJ. He graduated from West Side High School in 1967 and went on to join the United States Air Force immediately after graduation. In 1968, he married Delores Anthony and through this union, they were blessed with three children, Dorsey Jr., Zorana and Carl Criss. After leaving the Air Force, Dorsey worked much of his life as a truck driver. He also later worked in management. In 1998, Dorsey married Mary M. Riddle and the Lord blessed them with three daughters, Mykenia, Naomi and Rachael Criss. He departed this life on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in the Orangeburg Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, SC. In his walk with Christ, he first came to the know the Lord under the leadership of Apostle Irene Glover at the Highways and Hedges Ministry, Incorporated # 1. In, 2007, he moved to Estill, SC and served as a deacon under the leadership of his mother-in-law, the late Overseer Ruth Riddle. Dorsey was charged to be the deacon in the newly found ministry. New Life Christian Ministries Incorporated. Here, he served faithfully as a deacon and trustee until being called home to be with the Lord. Dorsey loved both his natural and spiritual families. Most of all, Deacon Dorsey Criss found the love of God and he loved God back. Mourning his death, yet rejoicing for his new life include, his wife, Mary M. Criss; daughters, Zoran A. Criss, Mykenia E. Criss, Naomi R. Criss and Rachael T. Criss; sons, Dorsey M. Criss, Jr., Carl W. Criss, Malik J. (Shayna) Riddle and Rondell Riddle; sixteen grandchildren; sister, Rosalyn Criss Ray; nephews, Anthony Criss and Jeffrey Ray; brothers-n-law, Joseph and Gary (Doris) Riddle; a host of other relatives, new and old friends.
