Obituary of Darnell Doran Johnson

Darnell "D" Johnson (age 37), son of Raymond K. Brown and Ann C. Brown was born on June 5, 1972. After a brief illness he went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA. He attended Cumberland Public Schools and graduated on June 19, 1991 receiving numerous awards and accomplishments in the sport of football and baseball. He attended Shenandoah University in the fall of 1991 on a baseball scholarship. At an early age Darnell accepted Christ as his personal Savior and joined New Hope Baptist Church. Darnell had a passion for football. He spent many years coaching and mentoring his brother Raymond JR. from flag football to varsity football. He loved football and remained a loyal Redskins fan. Darnell was joined in wedlock with Caren Wells and from this union one child was born, Darnell Doran Johnson, Jr. He was a loving father, devoted brother, son, grandson, uncle, and friend whom had a strong love for his family and friends. Left to cherish his loving and fond memories is his wife Caren Wells, parents Raymond K. Brown and Ann C. Brown, children Donae Patrice Johnson, Morgan Louise Randolph, and Darnell Doran Johnson, Jr., a grand mother Annie Mae Johnson, brothers Lamont Johnson(Cindy) and Raymond Brown, Jr., nieces Montierra Johnson and Tyra Johnson, uncles Teddy Johnson, Robin Johnson(Helen),Cleveland Johnson, Perry Johnson(Gwendolyn) and Brodis Johnson, aunts Cally Davis(Nigel), Barbara Crump(Spencer), and Ellen Johnson, great aunts Mary Ellen Liggon(Robert) and Grace Dean(Henry), and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends two devoted Aaron Liggon, Catherine Woodson, and two special Patsy Clark and Tammy Harris-Gilliam.
