To the Urquhart Family:
I was just recently made aware of Carla's passing. I attended college with her at VCU and I remember her kind and gentle spirit. I am sorry for your loss as I know she is truly missed by all who knew her.

I am so sorry to hear of Carla's passing. I helped her buy her home on Bashford Lane in Alexandria. She was so smart and so accomplished. She died much too young. My condolences to her family.

I was very sorry to hear about Carla's death. She was a good friend and a good person. She supported artists and their work, and was always looking to help those who needed it.
Once we were at a public interest conference in DC when we were students. It started snowing, and the entire city gradually started to shut down. She was nice enough to drive at that point (I was a new driver and scared to death). We luckily found a hotel that still had one or two vacancies and were able to spend the night rather than drive over the mountains back to Lexington. Good times (in retrospect!) and I was happy she was there with me.
Carla will be missed!

I just learned of Carla's passing from my uncle, Norman Urquhart. I only met her a few times at family reunions, but I remember her well. You have my deepest sympathy. May God comfort you during your time of grief.

I am so very sad to hear of Carla's departure. I was recently notified of it at my class reunion at Washington and Lee. Carla and I served together on the REAL Digest together while at law school. She was my more than capable Notes editor. Carla was one of the smartest people that I had the pleasure to know. I am very happy that she had a successful career in the law. I have very fond memories of her. I am sure she is rejoicing with the Lord. I will keep her family uplifted in my prayer during this difficult time.

Carla was just such a lovely person. She was talented and although usually an adversary in FERC proceedings, always happy to have her as an adversary. I learned of her passing belatedly and wanted to send belated condolences.

I brought Carla to Milbank, worked with Carla extensively, and value Carla immensely. She was the most remarkable, capable natural at this work that I've ever met, and she was drily hysterical and always fun to see and talk to. So many people in DC are simply stunned by this news. Carla was recognized, respected, and truly valued, and I will miss her greatly.

I am so sorry to hear of Carla's passing and extend my deep condolences to all of her family and friends. Carla was an associate attorney with our law firm, GKRSE, before going into public service at the FERC. She was a brilliant attorney and extremely collegial. I was blessed to have had her assist me on legal cases and she never let me down.
Please accept my sympathies.

Years ago, Carla and I endured more FERC hearings than I care to remember. While I was always impressed by her legal skills, I truly appreciated Carla's quiet, dry sense of humor about human nature (and lawyers in particular) and her great smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My condolences to Carla's family. I had the great pleasure of knowing Carla when she was with Milbank and through her transition to FERC. We worked together as chair and vice chair of at least one Energy Bar Association committee. She was so smart and always gracious and kind. She will be missed by me and by so many others in the energy legal community.

It is hard to imagine a more vibrant person than Carla, and I was stunned to learn that she had passed away. Carla was a brilliant lawyer and a wonderful team member within our community at FERC. Her passing leaves a tremendous void here at FERC, but Carla's family's loss must be crushing. You are in my prayers. I draw comfort from the words of Paul in Romans 8:28. May you find the peace that comes from the Lord at this time of sorrow.

I was so sad to hear about Carla's passing. She was so well respected both here at FERC and in the energy bar legal community. She had such a knowledge of the corporate side of energy law and was always the first person to whom you would go whenever you had a problem or a question. And when you did approach her, she was always friendly, helpful, and so easy to work with.We will all miss her.
