Gail Darlene Bolling was born December 2, 1954 to Horace and Josephine Bolling in Powhatan County, Virginia. Gail was the youngest of 4 siblings. She attended and graduated from Powhatan County Schools. Gail joined Little Zion Baptist Church at an early age and rededicated her life in August of 2012. She was a former choir member and also a member of the hospitality committee. Gail was a correction officer for many years, she was also a caregiver, and a babysitter for numerous friends and neighbors. Her passion was cooking; she catered many events with Ruth and Lawrence Jefferson. She was known for her legendary potato salad. Gil loved her daughters and grandchildren very much. She went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Josephine; brother, Horace Bolling, Jr, and grandson, Jeremiah Smith. Gail leaves to cherish her memories, 2 daughters, Shonda Gilliam (Leroy) and Krystin Bolling; six grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; sister, Elder Elsie Glanton (Isreal) of NJ; brother, Alvin Bolling of NJ; aunt, Kathleen Brown of TX; uncle, John Joseph of VA; 4 nieces; 1 nephew; 9 great –nieces; 2 great-nephews; devoted cousins, Evelyn Loftin, Nash Studivant, Edward and Pearl Hopewell; dear friends, Sylvia Ford, Claudine Smith, Elaine Smothers, Pauline Smothers, Jean Taliaferro, and longtime special friend, Jerry Gilliam.
