Obituary of James Otis Trent

James Otis Trent a son of the late James S. and Rosa Crump Trent was born in Cumberland County, Virginia on December 12, 1939. At an early age he was converted, baptized and joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church, where his membership remains. He served on the Trustee Ministry for many years; until his passing. Otis attended Cumberland County Schools in Cumberland. In 1962 he joined in wedlock to Addie Langhorne. From this union three children was born. James was a loving father and grandfather and in return we loved him as well. He was a kind and caring person who was willing to help anyone in the time of need. We thank God for sharing him with us. He worked various jobs and retired from Cumberland County Public Schools. For the past four months he has been in failing health an d on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, he departed this life at Bon Secour Saint Francis Hospital in Midlothian, Virginia. He leaves to cherish fond memories his wife Addie Trent; 4 daughters , Rosa Stokes, Barbara Miller (George), Audrey Evans (Phillip) and Michelle Hodges; one son, Chauncey Evans (Sharon); one granddaughter, Kianna Trent; four grandsons, Donte' Miller, Darrell Miller, Deshaun Evans and Donnell Scholfield; two aunts, Alma Brown and Gladys Crump; one uncle, Levi Langhorne; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Crump (Larry) and Sadie Everett; seven brothers –in-law, Robert Langhorne (Delores), William Langhorne (Rosa), Eddie Langhorne, Lewis Langhorne (Linda), Reggie Langhorne (Laura), Taylor Langhorne (Alice) and Floyd Langhorne (Barbara) along with a numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; three devoted, Robert Lee Carter, Sherman Langhorne and Walter Langhorne.
