Obituary of Roy Lee Trent
Please share a memory of Roy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roy Lee Trent (Mudd) a son of Jennie Trent and the late Deacon George Trent was born on March19, 1958 in Cumberland Virginia. He was reared at home with his parents, three brothers, and two sisters. At an early age he was converted and baptized at Rocky Mount Baptist Church where he still remained a member. He also attended Cumberland County Public Schools where he graduated and obtained his diploma in the class of 1976.
Roy was married to Mrs. June Ashmore and from this union a son, William Trent was born. Roy loved his son dearly and referred to him as "my boy". Roy was employed by many companies the last being Craddock Terry of Farmville, VA until his health began to decline. Through all of his health problems Roy still lived life to the fullest. He never allowed his illness to dictate his way of living.
Roy (Mudd) was loved by all and the community of Cumberland County all adopted him as their own. He was generous and was full of love and respect for everyone that he came across. He remained in Cumberland County until the Lord so softly called him home on the morning of Sunday January 25, 2015 at his home. His bright smile and inviting personality will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Deacon George Trent. He leaves to cherish one son, William Roy Trent (Paige) from Arvonia Va.; his loving mother, Mrs. Jennie Trent; one granddaughter Alyissa Grace Trent; two sisters Ms. Kathleen Hubbard (Phillip) of Cumberland Va.; and Mrs. Mary Venie of Richmond Va.; three brothers Mr. Leslie Trent, Mr. George Trent, and Mr. James Trent all of Cumberland Va.; eleven nieces and nephews one especially devoted niece, Tamonica Hubbard-Brooks (Tony) of Cumberland Va.; two aunts, Elmo Armstead of Farmville Va.; and Willie Ruby Moore of North Carolina; a host of great- nieces and nephews, uncles, and cousins, two devoted cousins, Kenny Brown and Sandra Steele. He was fond of a special great nephew, Q'Ryan Fowlkes whom he referred to as "Buddy." There are a host of friends and well-wishers not mentioned who loved Mudd as we all did; Mark Patterson, Rob Fyock and William Copeland are three of them.
