Obituary of William J Brown

William J. Brown was born to Benjamin and Carrie Johnson Hatcher on July 11, 1941 in Cumberland, Virginia. William was a minor league baseball player; He played for the New Heaven Falcons. He attended Cumberland county school prior to moving to Newark, NJ in 1952, and then he attended the Newark schools. He moved to Paterson NJ with his sister Carrie Williams in 1959 after the passing of his sister Viola Hatcher. In 1975 Mr. Brown moved to New Haven, CT to start his life over. After working numerous jobs he landed a position with the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation that he worked until his accident in September of 1999. He was preceded in death by both his parents: Benjamin Hatcher & Carrie Johnson Hatcher; siblings, Viola Hatcher, Ben Hatcher Jr., Horace Hatcher, Katie Hatcher Brown, and Lucy (Jackie) Hatcher & Frank Hatcher. He survived by wife, Regina Brown; son, John A. Brown (Jackie Falero) of East Hartford, CT; three grandchildren, Alexa, Natalia and Kyra; sister, Carrie Hatcher Williams of Raeford, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members all in the Cartersville, VA area.
