Obituary of Louise Fisher
Please share a memory of Louise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louise Fisher was born to Callie Epps Atkins and Jeff Atkins on July 4, 1919 in Cumberland, Virginia. Both preceded her in death. She attended Cumberland County Schools. She joined the Rocky Mount Baptist Church at an early age.
She left Cumberland, Virginia when she was a teenager. While in New Jersey, she worked for the Four Star Candy Factory for many years and she was employed by the Jewish Federation of Metro- West until she retired.
Aunt "Lou" loved to give gift to family and friends. She gave without looking for anything in return. She was a very nice and thoughtful person; who just liked giving, because she was able too. She provided for her siblings whenever they needed her assistance. Aunt Lou loved her independence. She lived on her own and did her own grocery shopping for years. Whatever she was able to do for herself, she did without complaining.
She married Roland Fisher on August 19, 1965. They were married for 35 years. After his passing, she moved back to Cumberland, Virginia. She departed this life on February 17, 2010 at Centra- Southside Community Hospital in Farmville, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, French Atkins, Jeff Atkins, Wallace Atkins, Cleveland Giles, Will Trent and Edward Trent; four sisters, Pecola Atkins, Ada Atkins, Elmore Trent and Meretha Faison.
She leaves to cherish her memory a sister-in-law, Estelle Trent; 4 nieces Tonnie Peoples, Shirley Randolph, Patty Watkins and a devoted niece Queen Trent Townsend; a great niece, Charlene Watkins; three nephews, Edward "Bo" Trent, Eddie Trent, Melvin Trent and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and friends.
