Obituary of Leomi Carter

Please share a memory of Leomi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Leomi "Lee" White Carter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, was born on September 17, 1948 in Chesterfield, Virginia to the late Leon White, Sr. and Gertrude White. Lee attended public school in Chesterfield, Virginia. She worked as a housekeeper for over 30 years at Chippenham Manor Nursing Home, for over 6 years at Ruxton Convalescent Center, and over 10 years at Chippenham Hospital. She was committed to her work and was well respected by her patients and colleagues. Lee retired after 35 years of service in the healthcare industry. She valued her patients and ensured they were her top priority. She was recognized as "employee of the month" on numerous occasions. She never missed a day of work - rain, sleet, or snow -she was there! After checking on her patients, she always looked forward to her cup of coffee with a smile on her face. During work hours, she would stop in the kitchen and ask her sister Connie for a boiled egg, saying "you got me!?"Here are some other infamous sayings of Lee's: "stop playing";"erteley"; "reeeallee"; "do you want me to kill you now or kill you later"; "saskatchewan and heathen"; "I don't think so"; "don't worry about it, I got this!"; and last, but not least, "don't worry about it, I'll be there!" Lee was the life of the party; she could and she did out-dance "all" of her sistas! And when the party was over, she rolled! Her family will certainly miss the way she would sing "happy birthday". She departed this life on Monday, March 17, 2014. Her parents, husband and identical twin, Doris Hurt, preceded her in death. Her family was committed and dedicated to her during her time of illness. Leomi is survived by: her significant other, Spencer Hite; her four sons, Ernest R. Chambers III, of Woodland, NC and Joseph Lee Chambers (Gwendalyn) of Newport News, VA (Father, Ernest R. Chambers II (Merle)); Leonard Ray Carter Jr. and Samuel Edward Hines of Richmond, VA; three brothers, Leon, Jr., Larry (Joanne), and Mitch; six sisters, Edith Musgrave, Connie Simmons (David), Janet White, Gertrude "Trudy" Williams (Monte), Bertha "Bee" Hicks, Frederica White; five grandchildren, Alithea, Ronald, Devante, Jabrea, Kolbi and two great-grandchildren, Kimora and Ezra; eight nephews, Brian McDaniel, Branden and Hanton White, Willie Musgrave, Richard and Randall Hicks, Dennis Arthur Jr, Vincent "June Bug" Davis and Christopher; seven nieces, Denise McDaniel, Victoria, Janice Marie, Felicia, Justice, Regina, Tasha Woodley (Darryl), Carolyn Phillips (James "JC"), Olivia, and Jasmine; best friends, Phyllis, Dottie, Ms. Helen, Gloria, and Ruth; father-in-law, Harold Carter; sisters-in-law, Rev.
