"A TIME TO BE BORN" - Ecclesiastes 3:2 Mrs. Mary Tencer Richardson Banks was born in Bladen County, North Carolina, on March 22, 1935, to the late Ms. Kina Richardson. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Banks and Mother. "A TIME TO BE TRAINED; - Proverbs 22:3 She received her education in the public schools of Bladen County, North Carolina. She earned her LPN License in nursing. "A TIME TO BE SAVED"-John 30:3 At an early age, Mary accepted Christ as her Savior. For most of her adult life she held membership at the Third Liberty Baptist Church, New Canton, Va. When she moved to Petersburg she held membership at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Petersburg, Virginia and currently was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church, in Dinwiddie, Virginia. In her service to Christ, she has worked as a Missionary and or Usher, and on the Pastoral Selection Committee. "A TIME TO LABOR" - Genesis 3:19 Mary retired after 26 years of dedicated service, from the Central Virginia Community Health Center, Arvonia, Virginia. "A TIME TO LOVE" - Ecclesiastes 3:8 She showed love for family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and church family members. Most of all she loved Christ and lived her life in accordance to His instructions. "A TIME TO DIE" - Ecclesiastes 3:2 Mary, affectionately called "Merna", was called from labor to reward on October 17, 2013, at the VCU/MCV Medical Center, Richmond, Virginia. "A TIME TO MOURN" - Ecclesiastes 3:4 Left to cherish and honor her legacy of life are; husband, Lewis D. Banks, Arvonia, Va., children: Yvonne (James) Hume, Petersburg, Va., Felix (Valda) Banks, Nashville, Tennessee, Shawn Banks, Rustburg, Va., and Lewis P. Banks, Midlothian, Va., brother, Sherman Richardson, Bronyx, N.Y., sister-in-law, Sofronia Banks, Arvonia, Va., stepmother-in-law, Lottie Banks, two step sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Jackson & (Little) Lottie Banks, all of Richmond, Va., six grandchildren; Kevin Banks, Pontiac, Illinois, Derrick Banks, Midlothian, Va., Christina & James Hume, Petersburg, Va., LaShanta Johnson & Michaela Banks, Chesterfield, Va., Nine great grandchildren; Aayleah & Da'Mariee Hume, Alana Coleman, all of Petersburg, Va., Ja'Quann Thorne, Kinasha Johnson, Ja'ven Johnson, Keondra Everett, Kenyon Alexander, (all of Chesterfield, Va.) and Cortian Banks, (Lancaster, Kentucky) Two nieces; Phyllis Richardson & Deborah Sutton, two nephews; Timothy & Gregory Richardson, (New York). Great niece, Adira Pritchett, Great nephew, Armani Sutton (New York), Beloved cousins: (North Carolina) Doris Grimes [Kathy & Dennis Riggins, Kenneth Grimes}, Jerry Grimes [Nataha & Jerica], Glen Council [David, Donald, Timothy, Tyrone, Jeraldine, Carolyn, Felicia], Callie Autry, and Joyce McKiver.
